Anemo Music Limited - Kingsley Sage (Music production / Management / Recording studios)
Anemo Music Limited works in partnership with the band's US record label (City Canyons Records) and UK partners Pebble Beach Music Ltd to produce and market Anemo globally. Anemo's first album "Slowburn" waws released 2005-06, and their second album "Stentorian" is to be released in 2008. From "Stentorian" there are also 2 existing singles with broadcast music videos and dance mixes. We wish to meet with potential licensing, distribution and promotion partners. Our goal is to establish a strong market in Japan for Anemo.
Art Vinyl - Andrew Heeps (Record Cover Art Display Frames)
The Art Vinyl concept is the brainchild of MD, Andrew Heeps, who, together with leading British designers Webb Scarlett de Vlam, developed the Play & Display Flip Frame, an ingenious front opening framing system specifically designed for vinyl records. Art Vinyl products are currently sold online and through music and home accessories retailers. The Art Vinyl Play & Display framing system, primarily promoting the Flip Frame designed specifically for vinyl records into the music and interior accessory markets. We are seeking distribution for both music and interior accessories/giftware sales channels.
Bruised Fruit - Jennie McCullough (Event management / Artist management / Support to new artists / Record label)
Bruised Fruit started in 2005 as gig promoters. Since then, following demand for additional services, it has developed into one of the leading promoters and supporters of independent music in Northern Ireland. We now offer a range of services including: support/advice/mentoring to new artists, merchandise manufacture, digital distribution, showcase opportunities, event management and promotion and press/PR services. In 2007 we moved into the Oh Yeah Music Centre in the heart of Belfast's cultural quarter, and since then have been working with Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) and Fiction to set up a record label. The main purpose of going to Japan is to strengthen existing links there, and to meet more organisations who can help us take Northern Irish music to a wider audience. The band signed to our label, Olympic Lifts, have already had some success selling in Japan through the Japanese label RimeOut. I am keen to talk to distributors and publishers to plan for the release of Olympic Lifts’ third album later this year. I would also like to talk to promoters, pluggers and venues that could be useful when we plan to tour in Japan.
Fabric - Geoff Muncey (Nightclub / Record label / Publishing company)
Fabric is a nightclub in London, EC1, which first opened its doors in October 1999. Fabric Records started in 2001 releasing its first mix CD ‘Fabric 1: Craig Richards’ in November 2001. Fabric Publishing started in July 2004 and currently represents over 2,500 copyrights. Our record label and publishing company are looking to find partners for releasing our repertoire. We are looking to meet record labels and distribution companies with a view to have our repertoire released in Japan.
Goodmedia - Fay Goodman (TV / Film/ Music production)
Goodmedia was established in 2003 to produce quality TV, film and music products. To-date we have successfully produced a documentary entitled ‘Thunderfingers’ a tribute to John Entwhistle of ‘The Who’ (Biography Channel) and highly acclaimed by The Times newspaper. We have several albums released worldwide which feature internationally acclaimed artists such as keyboard maestro Rick Wakeman (Yes) and Jean-Jacques Burnel (Stranglers). Our new documentary ‘Lady Samurai’ features our own music. We are developing two film scripts – one for an animated film and the other a full length feature film. We are a dynamic and creative team seeking to work in collaboration wherever possible. We are seeking to meet TV broadcasters, TV/film distributors and music distributors/agents. We welcome developing relationships with a view to working in collaboration wherever possible. We would like to see our products, especially our music, distributed in Japan and/or commissioned for TV and film.
Havavision Records - Heidi Spiliopoulos (Record label & Production company)
Havavision Records is an independent label that began in Steve Wellington’s north London studio as a production company in 1999. In 2005, upon meeting Heidi, who brought with her a business background, the pair started Havavision Records. Both writers and artists in their own right as well as label owners, they have used this platform to write and produce with, promote and release their artists’ product as well as their own, working with genres as diverse as reggaeton, old school soul/jazz to hip hop and hard rock. Our objectives on this mission are to introduce you to our roster of talented and experienced artists and to find partners to bring them to a broader audience in Japan. Havavision is looking to meet record labels - to license market and distribute, promoters/agents and publishers.
Liverpool Sound City - Dave Pichilingi (International Music Industry Trade Event)
Sound City exists to develop the infrastructure and growth of NW music businesses. We promote the work of NW artists and culture businesses in a through a number of initiatives and events. Working with key stakeholders (UKTI, ACME, ACE, MDA) we organise and deliver key events at SXSW and Popkomm. Recently we launched Sound City (UK). This was a 4 day music festival and music business conference. We brought in bands and delegates from all over the Europe and the World. We gave showcases to 432 bands (90 from the NW), through 20 venues. We welcomed B2B delegates from over 10 different countries. We had an audience in excess of 21,000 people. The aim is to continue Sound City (UK) on an annual basis in conjunction with the worldwide promotions. Our core services are to promote the North West region and profile the rich artistic and music business talent that exists within our region. Primarily we will be looking to engage with potential sponsors, agents, record labels and investors who want to come to the UK and engage with Sound City. Over the next 5 years our aim is to turn Sound City into the premier music business destination for the UK.
London Calling - Becky Ayres (International Music Industry Trade Event)
Focused on the future of music business and the independent music industry, London Calling is the the UK’s largest music industry trade event, hosting over 3,330 top music industry attendees from 45 different countries, with involvement from key UK music industry players, including Music Week, BPI, AIM, ERA, MCPS-PRS Alliance, PPL. Over 2 days (18th and 19th June 2009) London Calling attracts delegates from all aspects of the UK and international music industry sectors, including the recorded industry, digital, film and TV and the live industry to attend a cutting edge, world class conference, a major trade exhibition, exclusive one to one networking events, gigs, parties and live showcases, in one of the world’s capitals of music: London. Japan is one of the top music markets for UK companies, so we would love to welcome as many Japanese companies to the 2009 event as possible, as everyone wants to meet you!
Northern Music - Jonathan Denby (Label)
Northern Music (UK) Ltd is an independent label which promotes bands in the North West of England. The services provided are on a 360 degree model and include recording, publishing, distribution, promoting and arranging tours. We are aiming to promote Independent pop/rock bands from the North West of England. We are looking to meet record labels, publishers, digital providers and concert promoters.
Rightsman - Dick Miller (Publishing)
Rightsman source and manage all aspects of international exploitation, advising and implementing agreed strategies across traditional business models and new generation platforms with our clients. We offer fully managed, physical and digital distribution, licensing, sales, marketing, logistics, administration (including neighbouring rights), compilation licensing, manufacturing, synchronisation (TV, film and adverts), sponsorship, branding, premiums and rights management. Rightsman act as business development managers representing rights owners to look for commercial opportunities. Our clients include: Jay Sean, Dave Matthews, Jill Scott, Hidden Beach, Wet Wet Wet. Our goals are to extend our reach into the Japanese market and open up new business relationships, particularly the sponsorship, live, branding, digital and mobile sector.
Specific Records - Matt Clackett & Paul Pacifico (Management, Record label and Publisher for The Allstars Collective)
Specific Records was founded to manage the recorded output for The Allstars Collective which is made up of many of the best musicians in Britain. Almost everyone in the world owns an album on which The Allstars play, whether by George Michael, Massive Attack, Jeff Beck, Madonna or a host of others. Each and every Allstar is famous in the music world but known to the public only through their work supporting other artists... until now that is. In 2007 they released their debut album of original material in the UK which was produced by and features Hamish Stuart (Average White Band, Paul McCartney) as well as soul legend Jocelyn Brown. Specific Records is seeking partners in Japan to licence the album and to develop potential Japanese artist collaborations for future recordings and touring possibilities. In the past, members of The Allstars Collective have worked with Kumiko Yamashita, Tomayasu Hotei, Chizuko Yoshihiro, Yasuaki Ide, Misako Kano and saxophonist Malta.
Vigilante Music - Rupert Withers (Label)
Vigilante Music is a UK based rock and classic rock label management consultancy. We act both as our own label and as consultants to other labels and artistes. We are aiming to promote, Vixen, Crimes of Passion, Lipstick Magazine, Praying Mantis, Willie Basse, and a live rock catalogue. We are looking for licensing and media partners in Japan, and potentially other territories in Asia.
Zy records - Guy Stanway (Record Company)
Zy Records Ltd was formed in 2007 specifically to promote/produce/record and publish performer songwriters. The Zy team have been involved with many UK Top 20 hit records; harnessing this creative talent was the main motivation behind Zy. Our services are recording, publishing and producing deserving talent. We offer artist development with a view to third party licensing. Our Hip-Hop artist ‘10Shott’ has been hailed by UK rap magazine ‘HHC’ as ‘The future of UK Hip-Hop’. 10Shott’s videos are being rotated on MTV Base and MTV Baltic. His use of intelligent lyrics combined with contagious hook lines make electric live performance and have resulted in collaborations with US rappers Red Man/ Method Man. Zy Records’ latest signing is 17-year-old ‘Elli U’ whose track ‘Ice’ was number 1 in Latvia Nov 07. We are seeking companies who specialise in Hip-Hop and Pop that can promote mastered product utilising their marketing weight.
